Archival  of an E-Mail to E-Mail

Cyber Evidence Archival Center (CEAC) will register an E-mail Communication sent by one person to the other at the request of either the sender or the receiver.

The objective of this service is to enable either the sender of an e-mail or the receiver of an e-mail to preserve the communication as "Legally Presentable Evidence".

Procedure of Application

I : Sent Mail Registration by a Sender

The registrant will  submit the e-mail to be registered

a) by forwarding the relevant mail as an attachment from his sent mail folder to ceac.naavi@gmail.com  with the words "CEAC-sent" in the subject line, along with his own address in the body of the mail.

b) CEAC also provides on request a "Certified E-Mail Delivery Service" where the e-mail is delivered to a destination e-mail address on behalf of the sender at his request and a certificate of delivery provided.

II Received Mail Certification by the Receiver

The registrant will submit the e-mail to be registered

a) by forwarding the relevant mail from his Inbox  folder with full header information  to  ceac.naavi@gmail.com  with the words "CEAC-in" in the subject line along with his own address in the body of the mail.

The subject e-mail would be suitably registered by CEAC and a   print copy of the document registered  would be sent to the registrant by "Speed Post" or "Registered Post" or "Courier" or any other suitable means,  to the physical address to be indicated by the registrant while forwarding the e-mail.

P.S: Before registration,  CEAC will send a confirmatory message by e-mail to the the addressee (in case of a Sent Mail Registration) or the originator (in case of a Received Mail Registration)  of the e-mail submitted for registration. Registrant may therefore note that the fact that a message has been registered would be known to the other party to the communication.

Caution:
This Service is Not a Notary Service under the Notaries Act 1952. The certification process used by CEAC will  follow the principles enunciated in Information technology Act 2000

Pricing:

E-Mail to E-Mail Registration and Certification:

Rs 500/- for each  A4 size print out with a minimum of Rs 5000/-

Payment Terms:

The payment of the minimum amount of Rs 5000/-should be paid online through Naavi's Payment Center, using Naavi's Payment Receipts.

Separately, request for certification should be sent to naavi@vsnl.com with the appropriate subject line,  giving the name of the sender, date of the e-mail sent, and the e-mail address of the other party to e-mail.

In case the actual charges are higher, an invoice for the additional amount would be sent by e-mail and it can be paid online as a secondary payment.
